Pārthiva-pratimā Pūjā-vidhāna — Procedure for Worship of an Earthen Icon
पूजार्यते ह्यनेनेति वेदेष्वर्थस्य योजना । पूर्णभोगफलसिद्धिश्च जायते तेन कर्मणा
pūjāryate hyaneneti vedeṣvarthasya yojanā | pūrṇabhogaphalasiddhiśca jāyate tena karmaṇā

The verse asserts that Vedic ritual and devotion aligned to Shiva-worship makes the practitioner “worthy of worship” (pūjārya) and yields assured fruition—showing that right action consecrated to Pati (Shiva) becomes spiritually efficacious and not merely worldly.
By emphasizing a specific “means/rite” validated by the Vedas, the verse supports Saguna Shiva worship—especially Shiva-puja (commonly centered on the Linga)—as a legitimate, fruit-bearing discipline that integrates devotion with Vedic purpose.
It points to performing Shiva-puja as a disciplined karma (rite) with devotion—such as Linga-archana with mantra-japa (notably the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), undertaken with faith that the act itself ripens into complete results.
