Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It teaches that Shiva-kathā is not mere storytelling: the wise should understand the causes behind events and extract the virtues shown by great souls, transforming listening into sādhana that purifies the pashu (bound soul) toward Shiva.
By framing the narrative as ‘with causes’ and ‘wonder-producing,’ it supports Saguna Shiva devotion—hearing the Lord’s līlā and teachings—so the devotee internalizes guṇas like devotion, restraint, and humility that mature into steady Linga-bhakti.
Practice svādhyāya and śravaṇa of Shiva Purana with contemplation: after hearing, note one guṇa to adopt and reinforce it with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as a daily discipline.
