Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: General tīrtha-logic implied: pleasing Śiva through right conduct and worship yields proximity to Śiva (gaṇa-status as ‘sāmīpya’ type fruit).
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights that generosity, virtuous reputation, and sincere devotion culminate in Śiva’s grace; by truly pleasing Pati (Śiva), the devotee is elevated to divine service (gāṇapatya), showing grace as the decisive factor in spiritual attainment.
“Pleasing Śiva properly” implies disciplined saguna worship—reverence to Śiva as the gracious Lord who responds to devotion and right conduct; such worship (often centered on the Liṅga in Purāṇic practice) matures into closeness to Śiva’s divine retinue.
The practical takeaway is dāna (charity) joined with steady Śiva-bhakti—regular worship with purity and sincerity (e.g., mantra-japa such as “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and humble service), performed “samyak” (correctly and wholeheartedly).
