It emphasizes the Purāṇic method of preserving sacred knowledge through remembered lineages (smṛti) and named traditions—pointing to Shiva’s powers as ultimately rooted in the Supreme Pati, even when catalogued as “divine weapons.”
By listing divine powers as ‘celestial weapons,’ it implicitly frames all protective energies as emanations of Saguna Shiva’s śakti; in Linga-worship, the devotee seeks refuge in Shiva as the source behind every divine instrument of protection.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa and smaraṇa—recitation and mindful remembrance of Shiva’s names and powers—supported by japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) for inner protection rather than outward conquest.
