By naming Kardama’s lineage, the Purana situates worldly creation (prajā-sṛṣṭi) within Shiva’s cosmic order, reminding the seeker that all beings arise in a structured dharmic universe ultimately governed by Pati (Lord Shiva).
Though this verse is genealogical, such creation narratives in the Uma Saṃhitā frame the manifested world (saguṇa sphere) in which devotees perform Linga-worship; family lines and duties become supports for dharma, devotion, and eventual turning toward Shiva as the supreme refuge.
No specific rite is prescribed in this verse; the practical takeaway is to sanctify one’s household duties with daily Shiva-smaraṇa—japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and simple Linga-pūjā—so worldly life becomes a path toward liberation.
