ऋषभचरित्रवर्णनम् (Ṛṣabha-caritra-varṇanam) — “Account of Ṛṣabha’s Sacred Narrative”
तैः साकं द्रढयिष्यामि योगमार्गं प्रजापते । करिष्यामि साहाय्यं वै वेदव्यासस्य सन्मुने
taiḥ sākaṃ draḍhayiṣyāmi yogamārgaṃ prajāpate | kariṣyāmi sāhāyyaṃ vai vedavyāsasya sanmune
“与他们同在,噢生主(Prajāpati),我将坚固确立瑜伽之道;并且确实,噢可敬的牟尼圣者,我将援助高贵的吠陀毗耶娑(Vedavyāsa)。”
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not a jyotirliṅga episode; the verse frames Śiva’s salvific pedagogy—strengthening yogamārga and aiding Vyāsa’s redaction/teaching work.
Role: teaching
The verse presents Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who actively establishes the yogic means to liberation, strengthening the discipline that leads the bound soul (pashu) beyond bondage (pāśa) toward grace and moksha.
By ‘establishing the path of Yoga,’ Shiva indicates a lived sādhana grounded in devotion and disciplined practice; in the Shiva Purana this is commonly supported by Saguna worship—such as Linga-upāsanā—through which the mind becomes steady and fit for higher realization.
The takeaway is committed yogic practice under Shiva’s guidance: steady meditation and dhyāna supported by Shaiva observances—japa of Shiva’s mantra (especially the Panchākṣarī, Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and purity disciplines often accompanied by bhasma and rudrākṣa where taught in the tradition.
