ऋषभचरित्रवर्णनम् (Ṛṣabha-caritra-varṇanam) — “Account of Ṛṣabha’s Sacred Narrative”
चतुर्थे द्वापरे चैव यदा व्यासोंऽगिराः स्मृतः । तदाप्यहं भविष्यामि सुहोत्रो नाम नामतः
caturthe dvāpare caiva yadā vyāsoṃ'girāḥ smṛtaḥ | tadāpyahaṃ bhaviṣyāmi suhotro nāma nāmataḥ
同样在第四个兜婆罗时代,当毗耶娑被称忆为“安吉罗萨”(Āṅgirasa)之时,我亦将示现,名号为“苏霍特罗”(Suhotra)。
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Cosmic Event: Yuga-cycle specificity: fourth Dvāpara; providential manifestation aligned with Vyāsa-identity (Āṅgirasa).
It affirms Shiva’s compassionate, saguna self-manifestation across yugas to uphold dharma and guide bound souls (paśu) toward liberation under the lordship of Pati.
By declaring a named manifestation (Suhotra), the verse supports saguna devotion—Shiva becoming approachable for bhakti—while the Linga remains the timeless sign of His transcendent reality behind all forms.
Remembering (smaraṇa) Shiva’s names and forms is implied; practically, one may do japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with reverent remembrance of Shiva as the ever-present guide in every age.
