उपमन्युकुमारस्य क्षीरार्थ-प्रार्थना तथा शिवप्रसाद-निबन्धनम् | Upamanyu’s Longing for Milk and the Doctrine of Shiva’s Grace
रुद्रेण निर्गुणेनालं किन्ते कार्यं भविष्यति । देवजातिबहिर्भूतो यः पिशाचत्वमागतः
rudreṇa nirguṇenālaṃ kinte kāryaṃ bhaviṣyati | devajātibahirbhūto yaḥ piśācatvamāgataḥ
“关于无德无相的鲁陀罗之谈已足够——这对你有何用处?那已堕出诸天之众、沉入毕舍遮(piśāca,卑下而躁动之灵)境地者,如此观想又能得何利益?”
Suta Goswami (narrating the dialogue within the Shatarudrasaṃhitā)
Tattva Level: pasha
Significance: Warns that spiritual degradation (falling from deva-jāti into piśāca-bhāva) is a symptom of intensified pāśa; the remedy in Siddhānta is not despair but re-entry into dharma through Śiva-bhakti and grace.
The verse stresses adhikāra (spiritual fitness): without purification and turning toward Śiva through right conduct and devotion, mere discussion of the Nirguṇa Absolute does not transform a fallen, disturbed state of consciousness.
It implies that for those in impurity or degradation, approaching Śiva through accessible Saguna forms—such as Liṅga worship, mantra, and disciplined devotion—is the practical doorway that gradually leads toward realization of the Nirguṇa.
A practical takeaway is to adopt purifying Shaiva practice—japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), wearing Rudrākṣa, and applying Tripuṇḍra (bhasma)—to stabilize the mind and regain spiritual eligibility.
