Description of Shiva’s Ardhanārī-nara Manifestation
इत्युक्त्वा परमोदारं स्वभावमधुरं वचः । पृथक्चकार वपुषो भागाद्देवीं शिवां शिवः
ityuktvā paramodāraṃ svabhāvamadhuraṃ vacaḥ | pṛthakcakāra vapuṣo bhāgāddevīṃ śivāṃ śivaḥ
说罢这至为慷慨、由其本性而甘美的圣言,主湿婆便从自身的一部分分离出吉祥的女神湿婆(Śivā)。

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Ardhanārīśvara
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: cosmogonic differentiation of Śakti from Śiva for ordered creation
It affirms the Shaiva principle that Śiva is never without Śakti: the Lord’s compassionate will manifests the Divine Power as the Goddess, showing how grace and auspiciousness arise for the world through Shiva–Shakti.
Linga worship honors Śiva as the supreme reality along with His inherent Śakti; this verse narratively depicts that inseparable unity—Saguna Śiva manifests the Goddess for cosmic activity while remaining the transcendent Lord.
Meditate on Shiva–Shakti unity while chanting the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and in pūjā offer bilva leaves to the Linga with the understanding that worship reaches both Śiva and His Śakti together.
