Yatinātha-līlā: Śiva’s Test of the Bhilla Devotees at Arbuda Mountain
भिल्लश्च वीरसेनस्य नैषधे नगरे वरे । महान्पुत्रो नलो नाम भविष्यति न संशयः
bhillaśca vīrasenasya naiṣadhe nagare vare | mahānputro nalo nāma bhaviṣyati na saṃśayaḥ
并且在殊胜的尼沙陀(Niṣadha)城中,毗罗塞那(Vīrasena)必将得一位伟大的儿子,名为那罗(Nala)——此事毫无疑问。

The verse emphasizes niyati (divine order): the birth of a great soul is presented as certain, reminding devotees that karma and grace unfold within Shiva’s overarching governance as Pati, the Lord who upholds dharma.
Though the verse is genealogical, it supports Saguna Shiva’s role as the Lord active in history—guiding lineages and events—encouraging devotees to see worldly happenings as sustained by Shiva, who is worshiped in the Linga as the steady foundation of all manifestation.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate śraddhā (trust) through daily japa of the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and offer a simple Linga abhiṣeka, aligning one’s actions with dharma while accepting Shiva’s timing.
