अथ तस्मिन्वने रम्ये विजहार स भूपतिः । शरणागतपालिन्या तमास्यप्रियया सह

It highlights śaraṇāgati—seeking refuge—and the dharmic ideal that the truly noble protect those who surrender, mirroring Shiva’s role as Pati, the compassionate protector of devotees.
Though the verse is narrative, its key epithet “protector of the refuge-seekers” aligns with Saguna Shiva’s accessible grace—devotees approach the Linga as a concrete support for surrender and receive protection and inner steadiness.
Practice śaraṇāgati with japa of the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a daily refuge-prayer, mentally offering fear and ego at Shiva’s feet (Linga-bhāva) and seeking protection through devotion.
