शिवस्य पञ्चब्रह्मावतारवर्णनम्
Description of Shiva’s Pañcabrahma Avatāras
तथाविधः स भगवानीशानः परमेश्वरः । शुद्धस्फटिकसंकाशः सर्वाभरणभूषितः
tathāvidhaḥ sa bhagavānīśānaḥ parameśvaraḥ | śuddhasphaṭikasaṃkāśaḥ sarvābharaṇabhūṣitaḥ
诚然,那位具福德的主——伊沙那(Īśāna)、至上自在天——清净如纯晶般光耀,身佩一切天界庄严之饰。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
It presents Īśāna as Parameśvara in a luminous, pure form—showing that Shiva’s saguna manifestation is a compassionate, graspable revelation of the transcendent (Pati) for the devotee’s contemplation and grace.
The verse supports saguna-upāsanā: devotees may meditate on Shiva’s auspicious, ornamented form or worship the Linga as his accessible presence, through which the formless supreme is approached and realized.
Dhyāna (visualization) of Shiva as crystal-radiant Īśāna during japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” optionally with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and devotion.
