दानं ददौ तदा प्रीत्या द्विजेभ्यो बहु सादरम् । उत्सवं कारयामास विविधं गानपूर्व्वकम्
dānaṃ dadau tadā prītyā dvijebhyo bahu sādaram | utsavaṃ kārayāmāsa vividhaṃ gānapūrvvakam

It presents dāna (generous giving) and utsava (joyful devotional celebration) as outward expressions of bhakti that refine the heart and support dharma—preparing the devotee for Shiva’s grace.
In Saguna Shiva worship, devotion is expressed through honoring sacred persons (dvijas), offering gifts, and celebrating with kīrtana and song—forms of service that accompany pūjā and strengthen reverence for Shiva’s manifest presence.
Perform charitable giving with respect (especially to worthy recipients) and conduct devotional singing (bhajana/kīrtana) as part of Shiva-utsava; these acts can be paired with japa of the Panchakshara mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
