The verse highlights Śiva as dīnavatsala—one whose grace naturally turns toward those in distress—showing that divine compassion responds when the seeker approaches with sincerity and the moment becomes spiritually ripe.
By naming Śiva as Śaṅkara and dīnavatsala, the text emphasizes Saguna Śiva—approachable, listening, and responsive—who is worshiped in the Liṅga as the living presence that grants refuge and upliftment.
A practical takeaway is timely prayer with humility—approaching Śiva when the mind is calm and receptive—supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as a direct way to seek Śiva’s compassionate attention.
