诸天说道:噢天中之天——遍满宇宙的主宰、至上统御者、常住的萨达希瓦;噢诸界之主、宇宙之尊——愿垂慈于我等,噢以整个宇宙为自体者。
The Devas (gods)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: देवदेव जगद्व्यापिन् परमेś सदाशिव । जगदीश जगन्नाथ सम्प्रसीद जगन्मय
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: dhupa
It is a direct stuti (hymn) where the Devas seek Shiva’s anugraha (grace), affirming him as both transcendent (Parameśa, Sadāśiva) and immanent (Jagadvyāpin, Jaganmaya)—a key Shaiva Siddhanta insight that liberation arises through the Lord’s gracious turning toward the soul.
By addressing Shiva with accessible divine epithets (Devadeva, Jagannatha), the verse supports Saguna-upasana—devotional worship of the Lord with attributes—commonly centered on the Śiva-liṅga as the most universal, non-sectarian emblem of the all-pervading Jagadvyāpin.
A simple practice is to recite this praise as a prayer for prasāda before Liṅga-pūjā, optionally preceded by the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating humility and surrender (śaraṇāgati) to invite Shiva’s grace.
