It portrays bhakti as sacred hospitality: the Lord is joyfully received and honored, showing that loving reverence and auspicious celebration are valid Shaiva modes of worship of Saguna Śiva.
Although the verse describes Śiva in a personal form arriving on the bull (Nandi), the same devotion applies to Liṅga worship—welcoming the Lord with purity, reverence, and festive offerings (utsava) as expressions of devotion.
The implied practice is utsava-bhakti: a devotional procession and ceremonial welcome—supported by mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and traditional upacāras (respectful offerings) to Śiva.
