ब्रह्मोवाच । इत्येवमुक्त्वा गिरिजा सुप्रणम्य पुनः पुनः । विरराम महेशानं नतस्कन्धा कृतांजलिः
brahmovāca | ityevamuktvā girijā supraṇamya punaḥ punaḥ | virarāma maheśānaṃ nataskandhā kṛtāṃjaliḥ
梵天说道:如是说毕,吉丽迦(帕尔瓦蒂)一次又一次恭敬顶礼摩诃伊舍那(主湿婆)。她谦卑垂肩,双掌合十作阿阇梨礼,遂默然止语。
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Sthala Purana: No jyotirliṅga identification; the verse is a narrative hinge marking the completion of Devī’s petition and her ritualized submission (praṇāma/añjali), typical of purāṇic kathā framing.
Significance: Teaches the pilgrim’s etiquette (ācāra): repeated praṇāma and añjali before the Lord; humility is the doorway for anugraha in Siddhānta praxis.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights bhakti expressed as humility (praṇāma) and surrender (añjali) before Pati (Śiva), showing that reverent submission quiets the ego and prepares the devotee for Śiva’s grace and right understanding.
Parvati’s repeated bowing models the core attitude of saguna-upāsanā—approaching Maheśāna with visible reverence and inner surrender, the same spirit used in Liṅga-pūjā through namaskāra, añjali, and silent contemplation.
A simple practice is repeated namaskāra with joined palms before Śiva (or the Liṅga), followed by a moment of silence—mentally resting in devotion, optionally with soft japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
