It frames Pārvatī’s maternal lineage as sacred and divinely originated—“mind-born” from the Pitṛs—implying that dharmic lineage and ancestral merit support the unfolding of Shiva’s līlā, culminating in the advent of the Mother who becomes Śiva’s śakti.
By establishing the pure lineage of Menā and her sisters, the text prepares the narrative ground for Pārvatī’s manifestation and union with Saguna Shiva; devotion to the Liṅga is strengthened when devotees see Shiva’s cosmic acts arising through orderly, sanctified genealogies rather than mere worldly chance.
The verse implicitly supports Pitṛ-tarpaṇa (ancestral offerings) and remembrance of one’s lineage as dharmic preparation; paired with Shaiva practice, one may recite the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and offer water with reverence to ancestors before Shiva worship, especially on Mahāśivarātri.
