देवदैत्यसामान्ययुद्धवर्णनम् — Description of the General Battle Between Devas and Daityas
तदाज्ञया वीरभद्रो निवृत्तोऽभूद्रणात्तदा । कोपं चक्रे महावीरस्तारकोऽसुरनायकः
tadājñayā vīrabhadro nivṛtto'bhūdraṇāttadā | kopaṃ cakre mahāvīrastārako'suranāyakaḥ
奉此命令,毗罗跋陀罗当即自战场退下。就在那一刻,塔罗迦——强大的勇士、阿修罗之首——怒火炽然。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vīrabhadra
It contrasts obedience to Śiva’s command (self-restraint aligned with Pati, the Lord) with the asuric surge of krodha (anger), a binding pasha that drives the soul deeper into delusion and conflict.
Vīrabhadra’s withdrawal “by command” highlights Saguna Śiva as the personal Lord who governs even fierce divine energies; devotion to the Liṅga trains the devotee to submit ego and impulses to Śiva’s will.
Practice japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to cool krodha, and apply Tripuṇḍra bhasma with remembrance of Śiva’s command over the senses—cultivating restraint before action.
