अदामहं यज्ञसूत्रं वेदांश्च वेदमातरम् । कमण्डलुं च ब्रह्मास्त्रं विद्यां चैवाऽरिमर्दिनीम्
adāmahaṃ yajñasūtraṃ vedāṃśca vedamātaram | kamaṇḍaluṃ ca brahmāstraṃ vidyāṃ caivā'rimardinīm
“我赐下祭线(yajñasūtra)、诸吠陀与吠陀之母;又赐苦行者之水罐(kamaṇḍalu)、梵天之武器,以及那能摧伏仇敌的得胜之智。”
Lord Brahmā (inferred from the act of bestowing Vedas, yajñopavīta, kamaṇḍalu, and brahmāstra within Kumārakhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pasha
Type: gayatri
Shakti Form: Lalitā
Role: teaching
The verse frames true empowerment as a blend of dharmic initiation (yajñopavīta), scriptural illumination (Vedas/Veda-mātā), disciplined renunciation (kamaṇḍalu), and spiritually governed power (brahmāstra), culminating in vidyā that destroys inner enemies like ignorance, pride, and desire—supporting the Shaiva aim of purification and liberation.
These gifts represent eligibility and preparedness for Saguna Shiva worship: Vedic understanding guides correct ritual, the sacred thread and kamaṇḍalu signify purity and restraint, and ‘enemy-crushing knowledge’ aligns with Shiva’s grace that removes obstacles—making Linga worship effective as a sādhanā leading from outer rite to inner realization.
Adopt disciplined purity and daily worship supported by mantra-vidyā: perform Shiva-pūjā with a steady mind, recite Shiva mantras (including the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and cultivate knowledge that subdues inner foes—so spiritual power remains governed by dharma rather than ego.
