Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating Shiva Purana teachings to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not tied here to a specific Jyotirliṅga; the verse teaches a time-based vrata/darśana-phala: on Kārttikī with Kṛttikā-saṅga, Śiva-darśana burns pāpa and grants desired fruits.
Significance: Darśana of Śiva at the Kārttikī–Kṛttikā conjunction is said to incinerate sins (pāpa-dāha) and fulfill heartfelt aims—typical purāṇic framing of intensified anugraha at auspicious time-nakṣatra junctions.
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that sincere Śiva-darśana performed in a sacred time (Kārttika, linked with the Kṛttikās) becomes a grace-filled act: pāpa is ‘burned’ and the devotee gains innerly desired results, emphasizing bhakti supported by auspicious observance.
‘Svāmi-darśana’ is commonly fulfilled through temple worship and Liṅga-darśana—meeting Saguna Śiva through form and rite—by which the devotee’s impurities are purified and blessings manifest, aligning outer darśana with inner surrender.
Perform Śiva-darśana in Kārttika (especially on/near Kṛttikā), with simple upacāras—lamp offering, water/abhiṣeka, japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—and maintain purity (bhasma/tripuṇḍra and rudrākṣa may be adopted as supportive disciplines).
