शिवपुत्रजननवर्णनम् — Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
पावकस्त्वभवन्नैव सुखी तत्र मुनीश्वर । तस्याज्ञां परमोऽदाद्वै शंकरः परमेश्वरः
pāvakastvabhavannaiva sukhī tatra munīśvara | tasyājñāṃ paramo'dādvai śaṃkaraḥ parameśvaraḥ
噢,诸牟尼之主,在彼处,婆婆迦(火神)全然不得安宁;然而,商羯罗——至上主——确已允受并奉行他的请求(命令)。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights Śiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) who compassionately takes up even a troubled deva’s request, showing that surrender to Śiva’s will steadies beings caught in anxiety and restores dharmic order.
By naming Śiva as Śaṅkara and Parameśvara, the verse supports Saguna devotion—approaching the Lord as a personal, responsive protector—central to Śiva-linga worship where devotees seek refuge and guidance.
A practical takeaway is śaraṇāgati (surrender): worship Śiva with the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering water and bilva leaves to the liṅga while mentally entrusting one’s distress to Śaṅkara.
