शिवपुत्रजननवर्णनम् — Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
शिवालयस्य ते द्वारि गत्वा सर्वे विनम्रकाः । तुष्टुवुस्सशिवं शंभुं प्रीत्या सांजलयस्सुराः
śivālayasya te dvāri gatvā sarve vinamrakāḥ | tuṣṭuvussaśivaṃ śaṃbhuṃ prītyā sāṃjalayassurāḥ
来到那座湿婆圣殿的门前,诸天皆谦卑俯伏。怀着爱敬的欢喜,合掌致礼,他们赞颂商婆——即湿婆本尊,吉祥之主。
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Sthala Purana: The verse situates the devas at the threshold (dvāra) of Śiva’s shrine, a common Purāṇic motif of approaching the Lord’s abode with humility before receiving darśana and grace; it is not tied here to a specific Jyotirliṅga origin narrative.
Significance: Emphasizes temple-threshold humility (vinamratā) and añjali as prerequisites for Śiva’s anugraha; models proper approach to Śiva-darśana.
Type: stotra
It teaches that even the devas approach Śiva’s presence through humility (vinamratā) and loving devotion (prīti). In Shaiva Siddhānta, surrender and reverence to Pati (Śiva) loosen the bonds of pāśa and prepare the soul for grace.
The verse depicts temple-threshold worship: approaching Śiva’s abode, offering añjali, and reciting stuti. This aligns with Saguna upāsanā—devotional worship of Śiva as the accessible Lord, often centered on the Śiva-liṅga in the sanctum.
Enter a Śiva temple with a calm mind, perform añjali (folded hands), and offer stuti/japa with devotion—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a simple, daily bhakti practice.
