It teaches that true Śaiva worship is attentive (atandrita) and honors the inseparable unity of Śiva with Śakti—placing Śivā to the left and Śiva to the right—so devotion becomes complete and spiritually fruitful.
It emphasizes saguna-upāsanā (worship with form): arranging the divine couple in a sacred order and worshipping them as a single reality. This complements Liṅga worship by highlighting that the Lord’s grace (Śiva) is never separated from His power (Śakti).
A night-long worship (rātrau prapūjayet), especially suited to Mahāśivarātri-style vigil: set up Śiva and Śivā on the altar in the prescribed sides and perform steady pūjā with focused mind, mantra-japa (such as Pañcākṣarī), and uninterrupted devotion.
