Suta Goswami (narrating ritual procedure within the Kotirudra Samhita context)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Connects respectful arghya and naivedya with intensified mantra-japa, framing worship as a disciplined approach to receiving Śiva’s grace.
Offering: naivedya
It emphasizes disciplined upacāra (ritual service) and intensified mantra-japa—outer offerings (arghya, naivedya) joined to inner repetition—so devotion becomes concentrated and merit-bearing toward Shiva’s grace.
The Linga is honored through concrete upacāras like arghya and naivedya, expressing Saguna worship; doubling the mantra repetition deepens the devotee’s inward alignment with Shiva while serving the visible symbol.
Offer arghya with bījapūra (citron), present pāyasa as naivedya, and increase mantra-japa to twice the prior count—an instruction to strengthen both ritual precision and meditative repetition.
