The Recital/Teaching of the Thousand Names of Śiva
sukhānilassuniṣpannassurabhiśśiśirātmakaḥ | vasaṃto mādhavo grīṣmo nabhasyo bījavāhanaḥ

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: creative
Offering: pushpa
Cosmic Event: Seasonal cycle as cosmic rhythm; ‘bīja’ indicates causal seed preceding manifestation.
The verse teaches Shiva’s immanence: the same Pati (Lord) pervades wind, fragrance, coolness, seasons, and fertility. Seeing Shiva in time and nature refines the devotee’s awareness from ordinary perception toward liberating recognition of the all-pervading Lord.
The Liṅga is the stable symbol of the formless Reality, while this verse praises Saguna Shiva as the manifest powers of nature and time. Worship of the Liṅga trains the mind to perceive that every season and life-force is Shiva’s śakti and presence.
A practical takeaway is seasonal Shiva-bhakti: offer water (for coolness), flowers (for fragrance), and simple mantra-japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” meditating that the breath (anila) and the life-seed (bīja) are upheld by Shiva.
