The verse highlights śaraṇāgati (surrender): the devotee recognizes that worldly and spiritual aims become attainable through Shiva’s anugraha (grace), not merely personal effort—aligning with Shaiva Siddhanta’s emphasis on Pati (Shiva) as the ultimate helper who loosens pāśa (bondage).
Addressing Shiva as Deva and Nātha reflects Saguna-bhakti—approaching Shiva as a personal Lord who responds to prayer. In Jyotirlinga-centered Kotirudra narratives, such devotion underlines pilgrimage and Linga worship as lived expressions of seeking Shiva’s active support and protection.
A practical takeaway is prayerful japa with the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offered with humility (bhakti) and reliance on Shiva’s grace—optionally accompanied by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as Shaiva marks of devotion.
