Description of Anasūyā and Atri’s Austerities
संस्थितौ मुनिशार्दूल नान्यः कश्चित्परः स्थितः । एवं जातं तदा काले ह्यत्रिश्च ऋषिसत्तमः
saṃsthitau muniśārdūla nānyaḥ kaścitparaḥ sthitaḥ | evaṃ jātaṃ tadā kāle hyatriśca ṛṣisattamaḥ
噢,诸牟尼中的猛虎,他们稳固安住于彼处,且无任何更高位者在场。于是于那时,最上之圣仙阿特里亦随之显现(出现于彼)。

Significance: The ‘no superior being present’ motif underscores the sovereignty of the sacred moment/space—an Īśāna-like lordship over the kṣetra—preparing for a decisive manifestation/event.
The verse emphasizes steadfast spiritual presence (saṃsthiti) and the sanctifying power of realized rishis—when the highest seekers are firmly established, auspicious manifestations like Atri’s appearance occur, supporting Shaiva progress toward grace and liberation.
In the Kotirudra setting, rishis gathering and remaining established typically frames a tirtha or Linga-centered narrative: the presence of eminent sages legitimizes and energizes Saguna Shiva worship (Linga/teertha), making it a fertile ground for receiving Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
The practical takeaway is steadiness and sacred association: remain disciplined in vrata and japa (especially Panchakshara—Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and perform simple Shiva-upacharas (water, bilva leaves) in the company or remembrance of rishis and gurus.
