乔多摩说道:“女神啊,究竟发生了什么,又是如何发生的,使至上主宰(帕拉梅湿伐罗)不悦?如今当作何事、当往何处,而杀生之罪又如何竟临到我们面前?”

The verse shows a seeker’s honest self-inquiry: recognizing divine displeasure, confronting karmic consequence (hatyā), and turning toward right action and refuge in the Supreme Lord—central to Shaiva Siddhanta’s path of grace (anugraha) through humility and repentance.
By asking “what should be done and where to go,” the narrative points toward approaching Saguna Shiva through prescribed means—often Linga-worship, pilgrimage, and devotional surrender—seeking reconciliation with Parameśvara rather than mere worldly solutions.
The immediate takeaway is prayāścitta guided by devotion: Shiva-nāma japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), along with purificatory disciplines such as bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and sincere vows—typically complemented in Kotirudra contexts by holy-site (Jyotirlinga) seeking.
