मित्रसह-राज्ञो रक्षत्व-शापकथा — The Curse that Turns King Mitrasaha into a Rakshasa
Vasiṣṭha’s Śāpa Narrative
सर्वेषां शिवलिंगानां सार्वभौमो महाबलः । चतुर्युगे चतुर्वर्णस्सर्वपापापहारकः
sarveṣāṃ śivaliṃgānāṃ sārvabhaumo mahābalaḥ | caturyuge caturvarṇassarvapāpāpahārakaḥ
在一切湿婆林伽之中,此林伽为至上之王,威力无比。于四个劫期之中,亦为四姓众生,能除灭一切罪垢。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Kotirudra Samhita to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It proclaims the Liṅga’s universal sovereignty and its power to cleanse pāpa across time (all yugas) and society (all varṇas), affirming Śiva’s grace as accessible to every sincere devotee.
The verse presents the Liṅga as Saguna Śiva’s most merciful and universally approachable form—an embodied focus for devotion and purification, through which the devotee is led toward Śiva’s liberating grace.
Regular Śiva-liṅga pūjā—especially darśana and abhiṣeka with mantra-japa (notably the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—is implied as a practical means for purification and spiritual uplift.
