It teaches that Shaiva worship is not casual: right preparation (dravya), right method (sūtra-vidhi), and right establishment of sacred fire purify action (kriyā) so it becomes a fit support for devotion to Pati (Shiva) and the removal of pāśa (bondage).
Homa is a supportive Shaiva rite that can accompany Saguna Shiva worship—offering into Agni with Shiva-mantras as an outer discipline—while the inner intent remains surrender to Shiva, the Lord who receives all offerings through the ordained means.
Prepare homa materials and establish the fire according to one’s authorized tradition (sūtra), then proceed with rule-based offerings—ideally with Shiva-mantra japa (such as the Panchakshara) as the mental core of the rite.
