Agni as Jātavedas—ritual guide and luminous power who secures faultless sacrifice and protection in the sadas
अग्निं नरो दीधितिभिरण्योर्हस्तच्युतं जनयत प्रशस्तम् दूरेदृशं गृहपतिमथव्युम्
agniṃ naro dīdhitibhiraṇyorhastacyutaṃ janayata praśastam dūredṛśaṃ gṛhapatimathavyum
agniṃ naro dīdhitibhiḥ araṇyoḥ hasta-cyutaṃ janayata | praśastaṃ dūre-dṛśaṃ gṛha-patim atha-vyum1 ||
众人以炽燃之焰，在两块阿兰尼（araṇi）间生起阿耆尼（Agni），由手引出而显现；他受赞誉，远处可见，为家主（gṛhapati），广遍四方。
