Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva
अवफ्लुत्यततश्शीघ्रंकृत्वाकर्मसुदुष्करम् ।।।।अब्रवीत्कुपितःकुम्भंभग्नशृङ्गमिवद्विपम् ।
avaphlutya tataḥ śīghraṃ kṛtvā karma suduṣkaram | abravīt kupitaḥ kumbhaṃ bhagnaśṛṅgam iva dvipam ||
随后他迅捷跃起,成就极难之举;愤怒的苏格利婆对俱摩婆说道,彼时他如断牙之象般伫立。
Then Sugriva leapt into the chariot, which was a difficult deed to perform, saw Kumbha who was like an elephant and whose tusks were broken and spoke.
Leadership in crisis: Sugrīva undertakes a difficult action to confront a powerful opponent, modeling responsibility toward one’s allies and cause.
Sugrīva makes a daring leap (into the enemy’s chariot/position, per the given tradition) and prepares to speak directly to Kumbha.
