Rāvaṇa’s Assault on Nīla and Lakṣmaṇa; Hanumān Bears Rāma
श्रुत्वाहनुमतोवाक्यंरावणोभीमविक्रमः ।संरक्तनयनःक्रोधादिदंवचनमब्रवीत् ।।6.59.57।।
śrutvā hanumato vākyaṃ rāvaṇo bhīmavikramaḥ | saṃraktanayanaḥ krodhād idaṃ vacanam abravīt ||6.59.57||
听了哈奴曼的话,罗波那——勇力可怖——因愤怒而双目赤红,便如此答道。
Ravana of truly fierce valour, hearing Hanuman's words, his eyes became blood red and spoke to Hanuman this way.
It warns how anger clouds judgment; adharma often answers truth with rage rather than reflection or repentance.
Ravana reacts to Hanuman’s threat and taunt, becoming enraged and preparing to respond verbally.
Negatively, the vice of uncontrolled wrath; by contrast, dharma requires restraint and discernment.
