शुकवाक्यं (Śuka’s Report on the Vānara Host) / Śuka Describes the Allied Forces to Rāvaṇa
एषांकोटिसहस्राणिनवपञ्चचसप्तच ।तथाशङ्खुसहस्राणितथाबृन्दशतानिच ।।6.28.4।।
eṣāṃ koṭisahasrāṇi nava pañca ca sapta ca | tathā śaṅkusahasrāṇi tathā vṛndaśatāni ca ||
在这些婆那罗之中,有九、五、七千俱胝之众;又有无数“商拘”(Śaṅku)之千数,以及“弗林陀”(Vṛnda)之百数。
"These Vanaras are nine, five and seven thousand crores in number. They are in many thousands of Sankhas and Vrindas."
The demon spy Shuka is describing the immense size of the Vanara army to the Demon King Ravana.
They represent ancient Indian mathematical units of very large numbers, used here to quantify the vastness of the Vanara forces gathered for the war.
