布陀(辰星、水星)侵入了罗希尼——那为月神所钟爱、亦为生主(Prajāpati)所圣的宿位——并停驻其间,被视为将给众生带来不祥的征兆。
On seeing Sri Rama afflicted by the action of evilminded Ravana, the Devas, Gandharvas, Charanas, Danavas also, Siddhas and foremost rishis were despondent. Seeing the moon like Sri Rama eclipsed by planet Rahu in the form of Ravana, the Vanara leaders and Vibheeshana became worried.
The verse reflects the Itihāsa worldview where public Dharma and social stability are mirrored by cosmic signs; rulers and communities are urged to act responsibly when omens signal disorder.
As the battle reaches a critical pitch, the text reports ominous planetary configurations interpreted as foretelling distress for the populace.
Prudence and vigilance: the epic encourages alertness to signs of disorder and a renewed commitment to righteous conduct.
