他的妻子悉多,誓随夫君、贞顺不移,却在林中失散;她乃毗提诃之王、伟大心灵的阇那迦之女。
"Sita, daughter of king Janaka of Videha kingdom, loyally followed her husband, Rama. She was lost in the forest.
The verse foregrounds marital fidelity and righteousness (pativratā-dharma) while also implying the adharma of violating a devoted wife’s safety and dignity.
Hanumān identifies Sītā to Rāvaṇa—her devotion and royal lineage—framing her ‘loss’ in the forest as the central wrong that must be rectified.
Sītā’s steadfast devotion and moral purity; by naming her lineage, the verse also emphasizes her honored status and the gravity of the offence against her.
