Description of Rama and Lakshmana; Alliance Narrative to Sita
तां तु रामकथां श्रुत्वा वैदेही वानरर्षभात्।उवाच वचनं सान्त्वमिदं मधुरया गिरा।।।।
tāṃ tu rāma-kathāṃ śrutvā vaidehī vānararṣabhāt | uvāca vacanaṃ sāntvam idaṃ madhurayā girā ||
毗提希听那位猿族雄杰讲述罗摩的事迹后,便以甜美的声音说出安慰之语。
On hearing about Rama from the bull among vanaras, thus spoke Vaidehi politely in a sweet voice:
Dharma is upheld through truthful remembrance and gentle speech—speaking kindly and steadily about righteousness becomes a means of courage and moral clarity.
After hearing Hanumān’s message about Rāma, Sītā responds with composed, consoling speech, transitioning into praise of Rāma’s qualities.
Sītā’s restraint and sweetness of speech (mādhurya) even in distress, aligned with satya and dignity.
