Hanuman’s Self-Assertion of Power and Ascent of Mount Mahendra
aśobhata mukhaṃ tasya jṛmbhamāṇasya dhīmataḥ | ambarīṣam ivādīptaṃ vidhūma iva pāvakaḥ || 4.67.7 ||
On expansion, wise Hanuman's face was bright, glowing like a burning oven and shining like smokeless fire.
Dharma here appears as steadfast readiness for righteous service: Hanumān’s inner resolve for Rāma’s mission manifests outwardly as strength and radiance.
At the seashore, Hanumān begins to manifest his power by expanding his body, preparing for the great leap toward Laṅkā in the search for Sītā.
Vīrya guided by wisdom—power that arises from clarity of purpose and devotion, not from pride.
