किष्किन्धायां सुग्रीवस्य नादः
Sugriva’s War-Cry at Kishkindha
प्रतिज्ञा या त्वया वीर कृता वालिवधे पुरा।सफलां कुरु तां क्षिप्रं लतां काल इवागतः4.14.6।।
pratijñā yā tvayā vīra kṛtā vāli-vadhe purā |
saphalāṃ kuru tāṃ kṣipraṃ latāṃ kāla ivāgataḥ || 4.14.6 ||
勇士啊,速使你昔日誓杀婆梨之愿得以圆满;因时机已至,正如藤蔓逢时而结果。
'O heroic Rama! fulfil quickly the vow taken by you earlier to kill Vali in the same way a creeper bears fruit when the time comes.'
Satya and dharma as promise-keeping: once a righteous vow is given for protecting the distressed and restoring justice, it should be fulfilled at the proper time without delay.
Sugrīva urges Rāma to act now on his earlier pledge to slay Vāli, since the moment for confrontation has arrived.
Rāma’s steadfastness to truth (satya) and reliability in upholding pledged protection.
