तीर-वर्णनम् / Rama’s Lament at Pampa and the Approach to Rishyamuka
इति रामं महात्मानं विलपन्तमनाथवत्।उवाच लक्ष्मणो भ्राता वचनं युक्तमव्ययम्।।।।
iti rāmaṃ mahātmānaṃ vilapantam anāthavat | uvāca lakṣmaṇo bhrātā vacanaṃ yuktam avyayam ||
当大魂的罗摩如同失去依怙者一般哀号时,兄弟罗什曼那以恰当而恒久之言对他说道。
Thus spoke Lakshmana these befitting, unforgettable words to his his-souled brother, Rama wailing like an orphan:
The dharma of supportive counsel: when a righteous person is overwhelmed by grief, a close companion (here, a brother) should respond with timely, appropriate guidance rather than silence.
Rama is grieving intensely (over separation from Sita), and Lakshmana begins to address him with steadying, purposeful words.
Lakshmana’s loyalty and discernment—compassionate firmness expressed through “fitting” and lasting counsel.
