于是诸天连同乾闼婆、龙蛇以及罗刹,都被他苦行所生的光辉所震慑迷乱,自身的光彩也黯然失色。众皆忧惧不安,遂趋近祖父神梵天而陈述其事。
Thereupon devatas along with gandharvas, pannagas, uragas, and rakshasas, stood bewildered by his ascetic energy. Their own glory was dimmed in his lustre". Afflicted with anguish, they spoke to the Grandsire (Brahma):
Dharma is the maintenance of cosmic balance: when spiritual power threatens order, the divine beings seek lawful resolution by appealing to Brahmā rather than responding with impulsive force.
The gods and other beings are overwhelmed by Viśvāmitra’s ascetic radiance and, distressed, go to Brahmā to seek counsel or intervention.
Collective prudence and respect for hierarchy: the devas acknowledge Brahmā’s authority as arbiter of cosmic dharma.
