Trishanku’s Bodily Ascent and the New Constellations
उक्तवाक्ये मुनौ तस्मिन् सशरीरो नरेश्वर:।।।।दिवं जगाम काकुत्स्थ मुनीनां पश्यतां तदा।
uktavākye munau tasmin saśarīro nareśvaraḥ | divaṃ jagāma kākutstha munīnāṃ paśyatāṃ tadā ||
当那位牟尼如此说罢,君王便以肉身升入天界;当时诸牟尼皆在旁目睹,噢,迦库特斯塔族的罗摩。
"O Descendant of Kakustha (Rama)! when the sage had said these words, the king with his physical body ascended to heaven in the presence of the sages.
It highlights the narrative idea that truth-power and ascetic merit, when wielded by a disciplined sage, can override ordinary limitations—raising questions about rightful use of spiritual power.
Immediately after Viśvāmitra’s declaration, Triśaṅku is shown ascending bodily toward heaven as the assembled sages witness it.
