Divine Council and the Generation of Vanara Allies
सत्यसन्धस्य वीरस्य सर्वेषान्नो हितैषिण:।विष्णोस्सहायान्बलिनस्सृजध्वं कामरूपिण:।।।।
satyasandhasya vīrasya sarveṣāṁ no hitaiṣiṇaḥ |
viṣṇoḥ sahāyān balinaḥ sṛjadhvaṁ kāmarūpiṇaḥ ||
请为毗湿奴造就强健的辅佐者——彼坚守真实,英勇无畏,愿利乐一切——并使其同伴能随意变现诸形。
Some monkeys with acknowledged, valour were born to female monkeys with tails Similarly some other monkeys were born to female bears and female kinnaras.
Dharma is upheld through truthful commitment (satya-sandha) and benevolent protection: power is to be created and used in service of universal welfare, not domination.
The gods initiate the creation of extraordinary allies to support Viṣṇu’s earthly mission (later manifest as Rāma’s cause), ensuring that righteousness has effective assistance.
Satya (truthfulness/steadfastness to vows) and hita (benevolence): Viṣṇu/Rāma is portrayed as unwavering in promise and committed to the good of all.
