The Severing of Kabandha’s Arms and the Opening of Dialogue
दक्षिणो दक्षिणं बाहुमसक्तमसिना ततः।चिच्छेद रामो वेगेन सव्यं वीरस्तु लक्ष्मणः।।।।
dakṣiṇo dakṣiṇaṃ bāhum asaktam asinā tataḥ | ciccheda rāmo vegena savyaṃ vīras tu lakṣmaṇaḥ ||
随后,立于右侧的罗摩以迅疾之势挥剑斩下罗刹的右臂;而英雄罗什曼那则断其左臂。
The cruel, ferocious demon heard them talk. He opened his mouth and attempted to eat both of them.
Coordinated, measured force in defense of life is legitimate; dharma in battle includes precision and restraint rather than cruelty.
The narration specifies how each brother strikes, severing one arm each to stop Kabandha.
Competent cooperation—Rama and Lakshmana act in complementary roles with speed and control.
