Approach to Sarabhanga’s Hermitage and the Vision of Indra
अक्षया नरशार्दूल मया लोका जिताश्शुभा।ब्राह्म्याश्च नाकपृष्ठ्याश्च प्रतिगृह्णीष्व मामकान्।।3.5.31।।
akṣayā naraśārdūla mayā lokā jitāḥ śubhāḥ |
brāhmyāś ca nākapṛṣṭhyāś ca pratigṛhṇīṣva māmakān ||3.5.31||
人中之虎啊,我已赢得吉祥而不朽的诸界——梵天的境域与天界之巅。请你领受这些,作为我所拥有、可供施与之福分。
O tiger among men, I have conquered heavenly abodes as well as the imperishable, auspicious worlds of Brahma. Accept them all that are mine (obtained through my penance)
The dharmic impulse to give: the sage treats spiritual merit as something that can be offered in generosity to a worthy recipient.
Śarabhaṅga tells Rāma of the realms he has attained by austerity and offers them to him to accept.
Śarabhaṅga’s magnanimity (udāratā) and recognition of worthiness, offering the fruits of his tapas.
