因霜降、日光柔弱与寒冷之故,即便自山巅流下的清水,多半也失却甘美之味。
Due to snowfall, mildness of the Sun, and coldness (of weather) even the water flowing from the mountain top is not generally tasty.
Dharma includes endurance: even what is normally refreshing (mountain water) can become unpleasant due to conditions; a disciplined person adapts without complaint and maintains right conduct.
Rama remarks on winter’s effects: frost and weak sunlight make even highland water less palatable.
Forbearance (titikṣā)—accepting discomfort while continuing one’s chosen duty.
