Transliteration

apy ahaṁ jīvitaṁ jahyāṁ tvāṁ vā sīte sa-lakṣmaṇām |

na tu pratijñāṁ saṁśrutya brāhmaṇebhyo viśeṣataḥ ||

Translation

噢，悉多，我甚至可以舍弃自己的生命——或舍弃你与罗什曼那——但我绝不违背我郑重立下的誓愿，尤其是对婆罗门所许之诺。
