The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya
एवं प्रदिष्टा कमलासनाद्यैः सा मोहिनी हृष्टतरा बभूव । मेने कृतार्थं निजजीवितं च स्वपापतीर्थाभिनिषेवणेन ॥ १९ ॥
evaṃ pradiṣṭā kamalāsanādyaiḥ sā mohinī hṛṣṭatarā babhūva | mene kṛtārthaṃ nijajīvitaṃ ca svapāpatīrthābhiniṣevaṇena || 19 ||
就这样,受莲座者迦摩罗娑那(梵天 Brahmā)及诸圣仙的开示,摩希尼愈加欢喜;她以为自己的人生已得圆满,因为她前往依止那能涤除罪垢的神圣渡口(tīrtha)。
Narada (narrating within the Uttara-Bhaga tirtha-mahatmya discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It teaches that sincere tīrtha-sevana (resorting to a holy place with faith and discipline) is a direct means of pāpa-kṣaya (destruction of sin) and can make one feel spiritually “fulfilled,” especially when done under the guidance of realized authorities like Brahmā and sages.
By emphasizing joyful, faith-filled resort to a sacred tīrtha, the verse points to bhakti expressed through reverential practice—seeking purification and divine grace through prescribed sacred acts rather than mere worldly enjoyment.
The verse implicitly highlights Kalpa (ritual procedure) through the idea of “abhiniṣevaṇa”—proper, disciplined observance of tīrtha-related rites as instructed by authoritative teachers.
