若儿子从未有一次坐在母亲膝上,他便不知母亲的安慰与温暖;正如未出嫁的少女不知由夫而来的喜乐。

It teaches that certain forms of bliss are known only through intimate proximity and lived relationship—comfort arises from taking shelter, not merely from theoretical knowledge.
By analogy, Bhakti is realized by repeatedly approaching and resting in the Lord’s refuge (śaraṇāgati); without closeness—hearing, remembering, and serving—one does not taste the sweetness of divine protection.
The verse showcases nirukta/semantic precision and alaṅkāra-style upamā (analogy) as a teaching tool; it is not a technical instruction in ritual, jyotiṣa, or vyākaraṇa, but a didactic use of comparison to convey dharma.
